No, in point of fact I was responding to the fact that it was about to
be published on /.  It was in the "pending" queue there.  I, not being
able to reach many gaim developers, in particularly not having any
contact info for you or Mark other than email or IM, and having no
access to IM myself then, knew that I had to make a decision.

It was going to go on /. reguardless.  I chose to make it public so that
we could influence the form in which it reached /..  As a result of my
decision, the article the /. editors chose was one that included a link
to our annoucement.

This was precipitated by a failure on my part.  I sent an email to
packagers & translators, on Mark's nomination.  I should have realized
that the email to translators would be noticed.  

I appologize for that failure.
