It looks like a pigeon! I think that is a nice improvement.

I like the variations where the speech-bubble shape is more obvious - I 
think it's mostly the shape of the little tail at the bottom that makes 
it look like (or not like) a speech bubble.

I also quite like the four pigeon shapes along the top.

Though the new font is interesting, I still like the "pidgin" wording in 
the first style shown here.

One of my co-workers commented that it looks generally more like a 
corporate identity than a product logo that you'd get attached to.

Generally, I think this is a good improvement and I think the final logo 
could be in there somewhere.
