I don't mind it at all, I think it serves as a warning.

This, I completely agree with -- much of the traffic on this list is
*not* related to the pending settlement or other legal issues which
must be hush-hush, other than that the pidgin name and changeover are
not yet public.

It is of course your perogative to view this as you like, but I don't
think this is a fair characterization. I agree that this has gone on
for *far* too long, but I do not believe that _anyone_ on this list
has any intention or desire for this development process to be closed.
Legal prudence has forced us into this situation, and the end is in
sight.
I think that a #pidgin channel is a good idea.
