I've created an example of the changes I have specifically stated, though I 
did not consider changing tab status icons to being displayed as username 
font changes.

As seen it achieves a decently large buddy icon, allows for the 
implementation of future usages(voice/audio/etc) and allows for a window of 
the current 2.1.0 size goal.

Small changes make a big difference in my mind on this.
