Type message here... and Send button absence

I totally agree: the Send button shouldn't be there, or people will want
to click it, interrupting their ... I dunno... "chat flow." :) I just
thought a little message telling them exactly what to do and expect
might be nice - especially for first-time chatters. =)

Opening a conversation window for the first time, a user will see two
nearly identical white boxes with not much hint of what they do or how
to use them. If the entry box had "Type your message here and press
Enter to send." it would be 110% clear, I think. Like a web form that
has default instructional text that is greyed out, like "enter search
term" and when you focus on that input, it disappears.

Just thought I'd throw the idea out there. :)
