Reducing tab size

Also, I just feel like mentioning that I almost literally never have
only a single tab open. This decision is totally because it's been a
fairly common request for years. Our typical response has been "but
then there's no drag handle." Now that we have one, it seems
reasonable to respect the request.

Of course, if all of you hate it, I can't imagine it'd be very popular
with the rest of everyone.
