compiling pidgin meebo module?

Hey folks,

Has anyone here successfully compiled the Pidgin Meebo module (available
here: http://jrpomeroy.com/pidgin/) under Linux?  It's supplied as C source
code only, and I am very much not a power user and can't get it to compile.
I'd use the binary, but I'm running amd64 Ubuntu, and Pidgin is complaining
about incompatibility as it's 32 bits.
