This may be something that I said; I recall saying something along the
lines that a discovery browser is something that would probably be
very, very hard to abstract away in a generic way, and could probably
be better implemented as a series of different abstractions (e.g. MUCs
can be found using the discovery browser, but is better done with the
protocol-agnostic chat list API).

I may have said I'd prefer such an approach over a monolithic
XMPP-specific browser, but I don't think I ever said that Pidgin will
"never" feature such a thing.
