porting pidgin to uClinux

Hmm, finally got around to trying to start this project and fell flat on my face pretty quickly.  First off, all other GUI or graphic applications that have been ported to date use KDE and/or QT-embedded (like Konqueror-embedded for example) and although I made some headway and it is very possible, I think I would rather back peddle and port the finch (text only) version that uses ncurses (since I have this library already available and ported)....

So now where do I find the finch source code?  I can only find the pidgin source code or do they run out of the same tree?

How do I get and build the finch app????

I'm not sure I understand your question, it builds just like any other
application which uses autotools.  To configure for cross-compiling,
simply use --build, --host, and --target as appropriate.  That said,
it's entirely likely that something in our build process will break,
as I don't think anyone actually *does* this.  Let us know, and we'll
see about getting it fixed.

I don't think Pidgin is a good candidate for uClinux, though -- the
very idea of running it in the same memory space as my kernel made me
shiver.
