In my experience, we've always been very much about doing things
properly instead of half-assed. Forward-thinking might be more
questionable, but aside from a strong desire for backwards-compatibility
to the beginning of time (which I don't really understand), I think
we're okay there.

I wasn't around for the GObjectification conversation, but I think we
have a consensus that it's the right way to go and that we want to do
things the right way. Unless a lot of people have done a 180 recently, I
don't know what the problem is. I'm not saying it's the case at all, but
even if any one person were against this, that's not a reason to stop,
if everyone else believes it's the Right Way.
