You could eliminate some redundancy by linking to the FSF. Also, due to the
already low perceived dollar cost of any chat client, using the term Free
Software rather than open source would not have less of its usual negative
sideaffect of people gravitating towards the monetary meaning of 'free'.
Good time to point out that users have freedoms with pidgin that they do not
with other IM clients.
