Abt buddy status

Hi all,
I just wanted to know if I would be able to find the buddy 
status(on-line, off-line, away etc) without actually looking into the 
GUI.The blist.xml files gives only the buddy list but does not give 
their status.Nor does account.xml or any other xml file.If it is not 
available is there some way where I can change the code to write them 
into my own self-created file?Where in the code should I modify to get 
this info?Please do let me know
