About a GSoC project

[Halip Ilie]

Hi, my name is Halip Ilie, and I'm a student from Romania willing to
participate in this year's Summer of Code. I was browsing the Pidgin list of
projects, and I'm interested in improving the Yahoo protocol. I wanted to
ask what is neccesary to do it. I use Yahoo daily and I'm familiar with most
of it's features, and I know how to use a packet sniffer (Wireshark). Most
importantly, I'm experienced with C and C++. Besides these, and what Google
expects from all students, what else is needed from my side to complete the
projects?

And, do I have any chance of being selected? >.<
