Hi,
I finally managed to download the monotone DB and the correct branch, I
installed all the dependencies with "sudo apt-get build-dep pidgin", but now
I have problems to build it.
When I do "sudo autogen.sh" I get this failure:

running /usr/bin/automake -a -c --gnu... failed.
configure.ac: installing `./install-sh' configure.ac: installing `./missing'
Makefile.am:49: directory should not contain `/' finch/Makefile.am:
installing `./depcomp' finch/plugins/Makefile.am: installing `./compile'
pidgin/pixmaps/Makefile.am:4: directory should not contain `/'
Makefile.am:49: directory should not contain `/'
pidgin/pixmaps/Makefile.am:4: directory should not contain `/'

Is this something easliy fixable?
Now I understand why we should touch these branches only when necessary...

Thanks

No, it's not about being an "official" developer. We suggest that
non-programmers not use pre-release code because the code isn't ready for
general consumption.

To get the code from Monotone, take a look at this:
http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/UsingPidginMonotone

For the last step, the branch name is im.pidgin.soc.2008.vv instead of
im.pidgin.pidgin (which is trunk).
