text replacement and http requests...

hi,

i wanted to replace the text what i type before sending to a receiver.
i went through some of the plugins and came to know that the **buffer
parameter of the sending_im msg has to be modified . i modified it
withhin its callback function. when i tried it out, the text didnt get
replaced.....any help?

Also can we send http requests to a website from a libpurple/pidgin plugin ?
