Compiling isn't the issue. Runtime is the issue. Do you have a Windows 7 
PC? Loaded it in Pidgin? See it in your Plugins list?

Exactly how you just did it. I'm using the Pidgin 2.7.3 sources. All 
Pidgin installs are 2.7.3.
