While I'd probably agree that it shouldn't be as high a priority as
other things (Such as replacing GtkIMHtml with Webkit),
gobjectification can be very helpful with forward compatibility in
certain places. When I was writing the logger changes, I had to bend
over backwards in some places to make up for the lack of a refcount and
other useful fields that were not originally included in structures.

It might not be completely necessary to gobjectify every part of
libpurple/pidgin, but I'm a little curious what the current status on
ipg is in terms of overall completion and stability of the current
progress.

Also, just as a little update on my branch, last time I tried it out,
the 3.0 branch was stable, though it hasn't had any propagations in a
long time and the docs are far from complete. The one that would be
merged into 2.8 still needs a bit of work, but depending on how much
free time I find myself with, that could probably be completely in a
week, though I'd need to talk with rlaager about it.
