Will Pidgin implement the new echo protocol for chat?

Currently we're not interested in taking on any new protocol support, as we
don't have the manpower to maintain a protocol we don't use.  Anyone who wants
support for a new protocol will need to develop the protocol plugin him/herself
and distribute it as a third-party plugin.
