 From reading https://gitorious.org/purple-otr (which I just found after 
the memories kicked in) it would appear the 'blocker' would be that 
purple 3.0.0 would be required for Finch OTR. I don't think that's a 
major blocker at all to getting pidgin-otr into a 'current' release. 
And, in fact, would no doubt likely lead to much better 'testing' and 
tighter integration for 3.0.0.
