Maybe you are not aware that I was a long-time contributor to Pidgin.

I see. I did those patches on top of libpurple-mini[1], where I import
only your stable releases. I've no idea why people are interested in
libpurple-mini, but it seems there's quite a few.

BTW. I saw in the archives some talk to use autotools for building on
Windows which seems the absolute worst thing to do. You could take a
look at libpurple-mini's Makefile to see how it would be possible ans
easy to have a build system that works for both Windows and UNIX
systems, it's simple, readable and fast.
