FWIW, I'm personally -1 to the idea and implementation of supporting two configuration directories. In my view, this trades simplicity for developers now for long-term pain for users. If we're doing a split to .pidgin for its own merits, fine. If we're moving to XDG for its own merits, fine. -- Richard
