I'd say it's not critical.  The bug, fixed in that revision, is that  
in at least some situations, Google Talk accounts with New Email  
Notifications can receive notice that "yourname at gmail.com has 0 new  
messages" when signing on.  Awkward but not a show-stopper.

I plucked the change to im.pidgin.pidgin, as well.
