Hi Michael.  You don't need to do anything in particular to "join" the
libpurple project--just start helping.  Submit a patch, triage some
bugs, clean up the wiki, etc.  There are some ideas at
http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/PidginCommunity#CanIhelp (in general
there is tons of information on our wiki).  Joining the support or
devel mailing lists is a good way to stay in touch with what's
happening.  And please use the devel mailing list for questions about
developing--this mailing list is really only intended to be used for
reporting sensitive security issues.
