Using Google talk

If you have a recent version of Pidgin, such as 2.2.1, you would go to
the account management dialog (under the accounts menu), and would click
to create a new account.  In the protocol drop down, select google talk.
Fill in the values.  Leave the defaults it sets.  Save the account.
