Buddy Icon Not Update in XMPP

When I changed my buddy icon in Pidgin all protocols can see the new
icon except for the people on xmpp.  They still get the old icon even
though my side shows the new one config'ed.   My friends on xmpp are
using pidgin as well but not sure if they have updated or not to
latest version.

Is there a way to force an update of the icon on their clients to see
the new icon?
