Pidgin is a nightmare to communicate on MSN protocol

The message you received was indicative of a disconnection of the network 
connection which has already been mentioned.  The version 2.5 of Pidgin will 
contain an updated MSN protocol, which you can expect any time now.  You might 
be lucky in that it is more tolerant to network issues.
