[Question #43610]: Sound notifications stop working after a bit

New question #43610 on pidgin in ubuntu:

After loading Pidgin sounds for outgoing and incoming IMs work fine. After a few minutes I no longer get sound notifications. I've looked and made sure that the MessegeNotifcation plug-in is enabled. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
