Pidgin - Yahoo system message for [name]

The messages pop up when a IM service is not available

"Yahoo! system message for [name]
The Yahoo! Messenger network is temporarily down due to maintenance. ....."

How can I turn these off they keep coming and they will send any running
app/game to the taskbar ! which is REAL annoying.
