Certificate Problem

I have a Linksys WRT54G router in my network and use BSafe Internet
filtering as well as AVG Security (free version).  I turned off AVG, BSafe,
AND put my computer on the DMZ but cannot connect to an XMPP server.  I was
able to easily do so on another computer in a different location, but y
location with above configuration is not working.  It does not prompt me for
a certificate when I first create the XMPP account after initially
installing and adding the account.  HELP!
