pidgin 2.5.3

I see this hanging too on three different machines, all XP SP3, pidgin 
2.5.3:

- I have no plugins enabled
- it makes no difference if I am logged in to any messanger/irc account 
- no difference if I close via menu or right clicking on the pidgin icon.

It _always_ hangs and I have to kill with taskmanager.
