pidgin does not open window dialog with yahoo's link for user authentications in it

What is your browser setting in pidgin set to on the centos machine?

Do you have that browser?

If you don't have a browser choice in pidgin then make sure your Gnome
browser settings are correct (they appear in at least two places in the
Gnome settings I believe).

You can test if gnome-open (or xdg-open) does the correct thing when run
on a link manually to see if Gnome is set up correctly I believe.
