Please change the 2.4.0 input field's resize behaviour

Yes, of the two I lean strongly towards option one as well. I'm still
hoping that some amount of tweaking the default line count and the maximum
line count will prove to be enough for people, so if that isn't enough for
people I'd really like to hear it.
