Search Contacts stopped working in 2.4.0

Hi,

it used to be possible just to start typing a name and that would search on
the contacts list.

I rely a lot on this feature since I have a lot of contacts across multiple
accounts.

Since I upgraded to 2.4.0 this stopped working. If I restart Pidgin in the
beginning I am able to type one letter but no more... after a while the
search window doesn't even open, even when I press Ctr-F. Even in beginning,
pressing Ctr-F brings the search window but you can't type.
