Issues with Pidgin Message Window

Hi, I just upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 (which caused numerous errors), so I
am not sure if this is a Ubuntu bug or a Pidgin bug.

The problem I am expiriencing is the textarea of the Pidgin IM window
won't expand ( see http://www.theatons.com/screenie.png ).

I am running Pidgin 2.4.1 on Ubuntu 8.04.
