Pidgin running but no window

About a week ago I fired up Pidgin and went about my day then noticed I
couldn't find the window.  I'd hear a [beep] when someone would sign on.
I looked all over but no window.  So I did a 'ps' and a 'kill #' and
restarted Pidgin.  It's running but no window.  Rebooted my box.  No
window.  

Xclock pops up, xterm pops up, everything else works - no Pidgin :-(  I
yum deleted and installed - no window.

FC-8 with yumd running.

Any ideas???????
