Unable to get sametime contacts

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out why I can't see all of my sametime contacts?
I've had this problem on several versons of Windows XP and Vista for some
time now.
I tried searching on the site but it desn't look like anyone else has had
this issue.

I'm attaching a screenshot which shows pidgin configured only for sametime.
Normally, I should have about 75 contacts in there, but pidgin only shows 1
(this happens every time)
I do show up as available to other people and they can send me messages - I
just don't see them.
