[MSN] "servconn read error" when logging in through a proxy

Hello there,

I'm trying to connect to MSN through a proxy, but whatever are my settings
("Use the HTTP protocol" checked/unchecked, HTTP, SOCKS 4 or 5) I keep
getting this kind of error :

msn: servconn read error,len: 0, errno: 0, error: No error
msn: Connection error from Notification server (messenger.hotmail.com):
Erreur de lecture

This message might be self-explanatory indeed, but I don't quite understand
it... Is that a known bug or am I doing something wrong ?
I should let you know that "Windows Live Messenger works perfectly" (that's
quite a paradoxical statement, but well ^_^ )
Also, I'm trying on WinXP tonight, but I've been trying on Ubuntu Linux
without any difference....

Here's my debug log when connecting with the HTTP method (checkbox
unchecked, "HTTP" selected and every proxy-related info provided) The
strange thing is that Pidgin seems to connect properly through the proxy,
but... the ending server is rejecting me ?
