There is no phone support or anything like that.

This is likely some sort of network problem; common causes are proxies
and firewalls.

If your network configuration requires a proxy, you will need to
specify one in the Network settings of the preferences panel.

A debug log (http://d.pidgin.im/wiki/TipsForBugReporst) from when it
is attempting to connect might provide information on why it isn't
connecting.
