Skype Access Via Pidgin

It's not possible to access Skype from Pidgin. However, there is a
plugin which can be used to remote control the Skype client from
Pidgin. It still requires the Skype client to be installed and running
though.

Unfortunately, I don't remember its name. I like my freedom so I don't
use Skype, but you can find the plugin on the interweb.
