ICQ web status doesn't show online

Any ideas why an ICQ account signed in through Pidgin doesn't properly 
show the online status via this web hook:

http://status.icq.com/online.gif?img=5&icq=##########

While the same account signed in via the actual ICQ client works fine. 
I've gone in through the native ICQ client and enabled the privacy 
option to show status to web users.

Running Pidgin 2.6.1
