Which Linux distro are you using? Usually the distro packagers take a
little while (days to a couple of weeks) to create new distro package.

You should use the update tools for your distro, which may involve a
little typing or it may be a GUI program.

If you are new to Linux I would not recommend trying to build and
install your own packages until you have learned more and know how the
system works for your distro.
