I suspect what has happened here is that someone has marketed a Linux 
Netbook and renamed Pidgin as Messenger, so that it looks more like 
Windows.  They may even have promoted it as doing everything that a 
Windows Netbook will do.

The user then expects it to support the videoconferencing in Windows 
Messenger, even though video support was only actually added to Pidgin 
this week and may or may not inter-work with MSN Messenger..
