MSN help please

I installed Pidgin today and it rocks! Much more simple than trillion. I have one issue however. My yahoo, aol, google talk all work great. I can use MSN with some people but I have one friend who is running Windows Live Messanger 14 and I see his name and time stamp appear but I cant see dialog. Oddly enough if I right click and SELECT ALL when the conversation window turns blue I can see the text/dialog...Any help? Thanks in advance.
