problem installing pidgin 2.6.4 on windows xp

Does "C:\Program Files\Pidgin\pidgin.exe" exist?

Are the permissions on the file such that the user you're trying to
run as can execute it?

If you try to run "C:\Program Files\Pidgin\pidgin.exe" directly
instead of via the shortcut, does it work?
