Direct Connect Issues

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with Pidgin 2.6.4 and since
I first installed Windows 7 earlier I no longer have the option to
direct connect with others and when they attempt to send me a direct
connect it gives me option to accept or cancel but my option does not
go through. Also, when attempting to send a file it will allow other
person to connect but will not send the file.
