Hi Niki, can you please check to make sure you're using Pidgin 2.5.8?
(You can see the version number in Help-->About).  You may want to try
leaving the pager server empty and setting the port to 5050.  If
you're still having problems can you let us know the error message
you're seeing when you try to connect?
