Pidgin crashes while sending a file

Hello, my name is matt, and I'm a proud user of Pidgin +GTK for Windows. Pidgin functions well except for the fact it crashes every time i try to send a file, no matter which IM serivce. I've looked for a solution but none have helped, so if you would please tell me how to fix this problem i'd be very grateful. I've also attached a screen shot of the error message that pops up whenever i attempt to send a file. Thank you for reading.
