My Yahoo account does not work on Pidgin

No I am on 2.5.5 but I placed cn. in front of the prior pager service
address and that seemed to resolve the issue:

 

Pager Service

Before = scs.msg.yahoo.com

After = cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com

 

What caused this issue and is this a long term fix or do I really need to
upgrade to 2.5.7?
