Brand new

I'm brand new to this list. 

Pidgin is not connecting. It just stays on 'Connecting'. 

I'm suspicious that it's an SELinux problem, but there's nothing in my SELinux logs about pidgin or purple. Maybe it's a port issue? I'm in above my head! 

Any direction is gratefully appreciated!
