Authentication server issue in 5.5.5

Hi there,
I was using Pidgin 5.4 and was using it fine until this afternoon when my ICQ stopped connecting. The Pidgin client said I needed to upgrade to 5.5 which I did. Since this happened however, I am unable to connect to AIM or ICQ via the same computer.
I am running Windows Vista 64 bit, on a a Sony Vaio vgn-fw373j
# 2.4 Ghz (T9800) Intel® CoreT 2 Duo Processor
# 1066Mhz Front Side Bus Speed
With the new Pidgin release, I cannot connect to AIM or ICQ. The error messages are as follows:
AIM: Could not connect to authentication server. Error resolving login.messaging.aol.com: 11004.
ICQ: Could not connect to authentication server. Error resolving login.icq.com: 11004.
I made sure Pidgin was whitelisted in my firewall so I don't believe this is the issue. Any insight you might have would be appreciated. I tried to run standalone versions of AIM and ICQ, and both connected. I downloaded Trillian to test as well, and that connected, but Digsby did not. I was not running these at the same time, but installed separate, deleted after testing and rebooted to try the next.
Thanks!
-Derek
